Using the quarantine as an opportunity to save the house plants that I've neglected for months. I also split up the thriving plants into smaller plants, so that the empty pots where plants have died are no longer empty. I've run businesses in the food industry since I was a teenager. And, it's jarring to be referred to as an essential service. It's not something I could have ever pictured happening. But, it's a little irritating for mainstream media to keep calling all of us trying to keep it together out here, "Low-Skilled Workers." It's kind of a low-key insult to go on TV and say, "Thank you to our low-skilled heroes." . I challenge anyone who doesn't do food for a living, to communicate with three different customers at once, prepare food or groceries for all three customers at once, and deliver all three orders within the hour. And then come back and call me "low-skilled." Lol. . But I will say, most customers get it. Some don't. But most do. I've met some of the kindest, most generous people. Some of them, because of no-contact, were wishing they could stuff tips in my pocket. I simply say, you're gratitude is enough. Thank you. I know most of y'all get it. During this time when it's always a gamble to go out and do food deliveries for those in need, where we need to decide for ourselves whether we should stay home or work... Those of you who understand, make this job worth it. Hang in there. So, I'm getting ready for bed and I hear the kitchen sink is running. Liberty not only did the dishes, but she dried them, and put them all away. I couldn't bring myself to stop her when some weren't as clean as I would like. Lol. I was shocked. Over the last two days, I've been to Fortinos on Queen's Plate (Etobicoke), Worthington (Brampton) and Quarry Edge (Brampton). All three were out of disinfecting wipes and are on the verge of running out of disinfecting sprays. . Fortinos on Mountain Ash (Brampton) only had Eska bottled water yesterday which is almost double the cost of PC brand, Canadian Springs and Nestle. . Quarry Edge Fortinos still has cheap PC Green toilet paper but they have told me they believe they will be completely sold out of all brands by tomorrow. . I also swung by Walmart on Erin Mills near Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. They are down to two expensive brands of toilet paper. They will probably be out by tomorrow. . Walmart on Hwy. 27 in Vaughan was out of both toilet paper and paper towels as of last night. .
