How I was *FINALLY* Diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder

This video focuses on how I finally got diagnosed with unspecified bipolar disorder. I have complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) and general anxiety disorder (GAD), as well, but this focuses more on bipolar.

Shout out to Suzy Favor Hamilton, whose book “Fast Girl,” as well as her appearance on ABC 20/20, helped me understand my condition, and led me to get diagnosed.

This is just an intro. Like this post and follow my blog (top of the sidebar) to see the next few video in this series, where I discuss the difference between a psychiatrist and psychologist, the cost of one versus the other, and the highs and lows of being on anti-psychotics. I will also talk about self-medicating before I was diagnosed and the first time I used pot to cure my depression and how I landed in the hospital (it’s a HILARIOUS story).

(These videos are meant for informational purposes only and are not meant to replace the advice of a mental health or medical professional. Please take what I say with a grain of salt and go see someone who actually knows what’s what… OK?!)

*Minor correction: Ms. Hamilton competed in the Olympics but did not go on to receive a medal. She has received other medals in other competitions, including the NCAA and the World University Games.
